This is a typographic piece by Jared Erickson, a designer out of Atlanta.
This is a serif typeface. This could be Adobe Caslon Pro or Didot.
This is just a simple little piece that says "hi." This could apply to any audience.
The combination of the H and the I is very creative. It is really great to me that you could create such an effective piece just using two shapes. The abnormality of the word begs for a simple background, which is exactly what Erickson went for here.
This will influence my work by reminding me that typography is really just the study of space. Letters can be intimidating, but when you look at them as just shapes, it enables your brain to come up with many solutions.
